All About Magen

Well, it's official…I am old!  My little sister, Magen, turns 18 tomorrow.  Where did the time go?  It seems like just yesterday we were bringing that funny smelling baby home from the hospital.  I was 4 1/2 when she was born, and I remember wanting a little sister so bad…and then I got one.  She was great until she learned to talk.  Then I was ready to give her back! ;)

Like normal sisters, we fought way more than we got along.  She will tell you that I tortured her growing up…but it was all in good fun.  Sure, I dressed her up in baby doll clothes and bossed her around.  But, isn't that what little sisters are for?  Haha!  But, at the end of the day, I am really glad to have her as a sister.  Who else would I share inside jokes about our family with?

Random fact about Magen:  She couldn't say the letter F when she was little, so she called herself May May Totey.  I still like to call her that from time to time.  Haha!

Magen is smart, creative, and one of the kindest people on the planet.  Not to mention she looks like a freaking Barbie doll…tall, skinny, blonde hair, green eyes (see picture below).  Why am I buttering her up???  Well, for the record it is all true, but I may or may not be trying to keep her from killing me after this next part.  :)

I already told you that she has blonde hair, but what I meant is that she is a blonde through and through.  She says things all the time that make everyone stop and say, "What?"  So, I decided to start keeping track of all of her moments of brilliance.  Every time she says something funny, I pull out my iPhone and add it to the list.  I think it is selfish of me to keep all of these awesome quotes to myself.  So, when Magen reads this and tries to kill me, just remember…I did this for you.

I do want everyone to know that I have been waiting a long time to post this.  I knew better than to post it while I still lived with my sister.  It would not have been safe with her sleeping in the next room.

I hope these brighten your day a little.

Me:  Magen, do you want me to paint your nails this pretty blue color?
Magen:  No, I'm very reserved.
Me:  That's not right…

Magen: What's a Lutherian church?
Me:  I think you mean Lutheran.

Magen: Is definite a word?
Me:  Uh, yeah.

Magen:  You know that channel, you know the God channel.  They don't play commercials.

Magen:  Do left handed people still wear their wedding ring on their left hand?

Magen:  Those girls with those cute boys aren't very pretty, it must be a Sunday School group.

Magen:  That song "Made in America" is kinda prejudiced.  You know mexicans that come over here aren't made in America.
Me:  What?

(Excuse the language on this one)
Magen:  Why do people have those pricks in their hair?
Me:  Hahahahahahah….I think you mean picks!

Me: What yard line were y'all sitting on?
Magen:  We were sitting in the upper deck…not on the yard line.

Me:  Tell mom to stop fraternizing with the enemy.
Magen:  What?  No, she wasn't doing that.  She was just talking to them.

(On our way to see our great Uncle in the hospital)
Magen: When are visiting hours over?
Mom:  I don't know, but I'm sure they will let us see him.
Magen:  We will just pretend like we are family.
Mom:  Magen, we are family...

Magen:  If I'm typing "It's so nice to meet you", is so spelled with one O or two?  I always get them confused.
Mom:  So is never spelled with two O's.
Magen:  Yes it it.  It's just like to and too.  Give me an example of when it has one O and when it has two.
Mom:  I promise, so is never spelled with two O's.

Sorry, for poking a little fun at you, Magen.  You are just too funny.  Hope you have a fabulous 18th Birthday!
